AN ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT THE 2020 CONFERENCES:

Leading through crisis is something we are all doing right now, be it with MYLead, with school, work, family, or friends. A lot of change is happening, quickly, and most of us are scrambling to understand what it means.
The MYLead Corporate Board met recently to try to better understand how COVID-19 affects all of us. While weighing recommendations from the CDC & MSU and looking at the data in world-wide trends, we have made the difficult decision to cancel both of the 2020 conferences. Please know this was not an easy decision; at the end of the day, the safety of our students and staff is paramount. We cannot, in good conscience, host a conference if there is any risk of the health and safety of MYLeaders.
Where does that lead us? Ideally, with hope. For this first time ever, MYLead will hold a 2020 Virtual Summit– a highly interactive MYLead gathering via video conference. There will be lots of ways to build your leadership, bond with a home group, have fun, and talk with plenty of young leaders. There will be five total sessions on Saturday’s from May 23rd to June 20th, 3-5:30pm each day. So how can you get involved?
FOR STUDENTS NOMINATED FOR THE 2020 CONFERENCES:
Since you were nominated to participate in MYLead this year, a spot has been reserved for you! Every participant will have a personalized experience. In order to help us plan those experiences, please login
to the MYLead Portal and let us know whether you’ll be able to join us. The deadline to register is Sunday, May 17th, 11:59pm.
Additionally, as we shared with you previously, a spot will be reserved for you to attend any MYLead in-person conference in 2021 as well! More information will be shared on that process in the future.
Keep an eye on your inbox for more details on the three (*clap*) roles available for the Virtual Summit: Group Guides (GG), behind the scenes logistics, or participant! There are no age or other requirements other than that you be a MYLead alum or volunteer, that you be there, that you attend one of our orientation sessions if you’re volunteering, and that you submit to a background check if you are over 18, per MYLead’s policy for everyone’s safety.
